In a receding economy, some employers have elected to cut their 401(k) matching programs.
While it seems like those cuts will be rare in the short term, eliminating the tax deductions on 401(k) accounts would make this a reasonable option for employers, as they would lose their incentive to match contributions.
Democrats have been chatting about the end of those tax deductions. If they make the wrong decisions and worsen this economy, 401(k) programs may be in trouble.
